On 20 April 1945, Hitler ordered Operation Seraglio to begin - the evacuation of key government personnel and files from embattled Berlin to Bavaria. Many important Nazis escaped Berlin by plane, but one aircraft carrying a huge cache of the most secret and important of Hitler’s personal files crashed. Those metal boxes of files have been searched for ever since. This is the story of what happened.
